Mission: Success

Not everyone has a chance to be rich but everyone has a chance to be successful.  -Anonymous

For you, what is Success? Dictionaries said that success means that favorable or prosperous termination of attempts or endeavors; the accomplishment of one's goals, the attainment of wealth, position, honors, or the like. Most of us want to be Successful someday but what it takes to be successful men someday? If you have all this can we say that you’re successful? Let’s find out how to be successful and what the importance of being successful is.
Here in the Philippines, to be rich is what we want because of the poverty we have here. We all want to have all we want in our lives but not all of us have a chance to be rich and successful. So, our determination to earn this is our Goals and our Dreams. Now, I created this blog to motivate to move forward and take your dreams to be real. I have some advices that may keep you in your track to be successful someday and to be a happy person at the same time. Here are six ways to do that, to become successful and happy.

Build real relationships. What a novel concept, right? While everyone else is wasting their time developing their personal brands and building huge online networks, get out and spend time with real people in the real world. One-on-one in real time. That's the only place you'll find real opportunity and friendship. And that's where success and happiness comes from. No kidding.

Groom yourself. Want to know how great companies that churn out hundreds of future CEOs develop their talent? They identify and recruit up-and-comers and then groom them by moving them around into different areas and situations. That's how they learn a broad range of skills. Experience. Get out in the world. Try different things. Get your hands dirty. That's how you'll find opportunity and figure out what makes you happy.

Do nothing. So much of life is out of our control. We never seem to have enough information to solve tough problems and make important decisions. When you need to gain some perspective, resist the urge to seek out more information. Turn off all the sources of communication, all the noise that distracts you. Just be quiet and listen to your own inner thoughts. Don't judge them; just listen. The answers to life's most difficult challenges are always there.

Work for a great company. Everybody wants to be an entrepreneur these days. Here's a novel thought. Go work for a great company. Learn from people smarter, more accomplished, more experienced than you. Learn from the pros. Find a mentor or two. Learn how business works in the real world. Figure out how you can help that company be even better. What you can bring to the party that really matters and nobody else is doing. If you're meant to be an entrepreneur, an opportunity will come to you. And you'll be ready for it.

Do one thing at a time. Everyone's so distracted with social media and all their slash jobs these days, try picking one thing you really want to do and just get it done. Prioritize. It'll provide a sense of accomplishment and control. It'll help you build confidence. Even if it fails, you'll learn from the experience. And you'll gain strength from knowing that failure didn't kill you. That will make you more resilient and give you courage to tackle bigger things.

Be good to yourself. Most people who want a lot out of life are their own worst enemy. They take themselves too seriously. Judge them too harshly. Expect too much out of themselves and others. If you can learn to let go of all your expectations, quit trying so hard to get somewhere, you'll learn that just being you, present in this moment, is all that matters. That's what life is all about. And that's when all good things will come to you. Success, happiness, everything.

How blessed you are?

Here in the city, everything seems so easy and advance. We live our lives in pleasure and enjoyment but did you ever imagine yourself without everything you have here in the city? Did you ever imagine yourself living in the worst place that you’ll know? This blog I made is for my readers to appreciate everything and save things they left behind. I entitled it, “How blessed you are? IWitness: Alkansya”. This is the story of a Boy who works hard just to have his dreams, to graduate at least in High School.
His name is Anthony, 12-year old boy from Barangay of Sulangan in Eastern Samar. At a very tender age, Anthony has already mastered hard work. He works all week without rest—setting out in the wee hours of the morning to catch fish and collect sea shells, and washing cars in a nearby town in the afternoon. But Anthony’s toughest task is done at night when he dives and scours the seabed for hours, searching for a sea creature used in Chinese recipes and traditional medicine—the sea cucumber.
Anthony’s hard work is rewarded with a measly income—few coins that he saves in his alkansya or piggy bank. But nonetheless, the boy works tirelessly to fill his money box in hope of someday fulfilling his dream of finishing his studies.
Now did you imagine yourself, if you are Anthony? He just wants to finish his studying and help his parents at the same time to save his money in the future expenses. Actually this one of the stories of hundreds of children works to earn money. In fact, when I was a child I done the same thing. When i was in grade school, when I’m grade one. When at night, I talked to my neighbours if I throw-away their garbage. The area where the garbage is been thrown is a like a kilometres away from their houses. Imagine, One sack of garbage I carried in my little shoulders just to have some coins from them. At that time I just wanted to earn money. I don’t care if it is too heavy or smelly.
When I was in Grade three, I worked in my aunt as a Water boy because in our community, I lot of houses don’t have their own water system so my aunt decided to have a business. She decided to build a water system and I’m the one that takes care of it. Every morning, I woke up early to start fetching water and carry it to their houses until they filled their containers. I work hard until 5 in late afternoon.  I don’t care if I’m too tired; I just wanted to earn money. After a long day of work, I just earn 30 pesos not bad for me because all I want is to save my money to buy something I want.
Lastly, I worked as Construction worker. After hours of schooling, I go in the site to work. I work in different areas. I worked as I Labourer, as a Painter, as a Mason, as a steel man, as a plumber. I know it’s too hard for me to work at the same time to study but I just want to earn money. I’m not just working to earn money but I have an ambition to Graduated and to have a decent job in the near future. Until now, I’m working part time and at the same time, I studying in college. This is too hard for me but I have my goals to finish what I started.

Now, did you feel blessed after you read this? You are so blessed because you have your parents, they feed you trice a day, they supported your financial needs even your emotional needs, and they loving you that other children don’t have.

Manny Pacquiao: The Fist of a Champion

What does it take to be a champion? I believe, it is not about the trophy, not about the price that you’ll get, it is not the talent. Not the salary, the most points, the fastest time, or the most records. It is not even being the best of the best. All of these things are just the benefits of what makes a true champion. You see, the real winners in life are those who have the courage to see the impossible. They are the people who overcome and persevere through all circumstances, trials and problems that came unto their way. They learn from their mistakes, and no matter what, they never give up on their dreams. A true champion has
Behind every achievements encompasses an untold story. These things are called experiences. Quotations say “That experience is the best teacher.” For me, yes it is. Some peoples use this experience to become somebody. Like “From nobody to somebody.” Filipinos have a champion who has an amazing story or experience that he use to achieve his goal and achieve his dream, a world title belt.
His name is Emmanuel "Manny" Dapidran Pacquiao popularly known as Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao. Filipino world boxing champion Emmanuel Dapidran Pacquiao was born on December 17, 1978, to parents Dionesia Dapidran-Pacquiao and Rosalio Pacquiao. He was raised in Kibawe, which is located in the Bukidnon province of Mindanao, Philippines.
Manny Pacquiao began professionally boxing at the age of 16, in a bout against Edmund Ignacio. Pacquiao beat Ignacio in four rounds. He went on to win a 1998 bout against Thailand's Chatchai Sasakul, and was named victorious against American boxer Oscar De La Hoya and England's Ricky Hatton in 2008 and 2009, respectively. Pacquiao has been deemed one of the world's finest boxers, receiving the title of "Fighter of the Decade" for the 2000s by the Boxing Writers Association of America, among various other honours.
When he was a teenager, Pacquiao left his family and boarded a ship to Manila, Philippines, in hopes of training as a boxer and launching a career in the sport. Not long after, in January of 1995, his goals gained some traction; at age 16, he stepped into the ring for his first professional bout, against Edmund Ignacio. Pacquiao won the fight in four rounds, in a unanimous decision. The victory propeled him into a successful boxing run that would encompass the better part of two decades.
In December 1998, Pacquiao won a bout against Chatchai Sasakul of Thailand, taking the World Boxing Council flyweight title—his first major honor. In 2001, he moved into a larger weight division, and beat Lehlo Ledwaba for the International Boxing Federation junior featherweight title, in his first U.S. fight. Pacquiao won the fight with a knockout after six rounds. He went on to win several bouts in the years thereafter, claiming world titles in eight different weight divisions.
Ten years after his win against Sasakul, in December 2008, Pacquiao was named victor of an eight-round, nontitle welterweight bout against famed American boxer Oscar De La Hoya. The fight generated nearly $70 million from viewers of pay-per-view—the broadcasting format for most of Pacquiao's fights since the early 2000s.

Pacquiao went on to fight United Kingdom boxing star Ricky Hatton in May 2009, in a light welterweight division bout in Las Vegas. Pacquiao won the fight by a knockout in the second round, taking The Ring's junior welterweight championship. Later that year, in November, he beat Puerto Rico's Miguel Cotto in a 12-round bout, for the World Boxing Organization welterweight title—an honor he defended in 2010, when he outlasted Ghanaian boxer Joshua Clottey in a 12-round fight.
On June 9, 2012, Pacquiao lost a 12-round bout with American boxer Timothy Bradley, in a 115-113 decision by three judges. The fight was an incredible upset for boxing fans, as Pacquiao had won 7 rounds to Bradley's five. The fight, broadcast on pay-per-view, was watched by thousands of fans worldwide. The judges' decision spurred wide wide speculation, as both critics and fans argued that Pacquiao should have been named the victor.
That December, Pacquiao suffered another difficult defeat. He was knocked out by Juan Manuel Marquez in the sixth round of their welterweight bout in Las Vegas. Pacquiao explained his loss by saying "I just got hit by a punch I didn't see," according to the New York Daily News.
Pacquiao's impeccable footwork, speed and quick jabs has kept boxing fans on their feet. And his endearing smile, charm and chisled physique has only helped to boost his public appeal. In 2003, he was voted the Philippines' Person of the Year over President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo. He has also been named "Fighter of the Decade" for the 2000s by the Boxing Writers Association of America, among various other honors.
Beyond boxing, Pacquiao has participated in basketball, business, acting, music recording and politics. In May 2010, Pacquiao was elected to the House of Representatives in the 15th Congress of the Philippines, representing the province of Sarangani. He was re-elected in 2013 to the 16th Congress of the Philippines.
In 2007, Pacquiao made his first attempt to enter politics, running for a seat in the House of Representatives of the Philippines. He was defeated by incumbent Rep. Darlene Antonino-Custodio, and returned to life as a full-time boxer. In 2009, however, Pacquiao formed a new Filipino political party, the People's Champ Movement, and again ran for a legislative seat. He won be a landslide, beating opponent Roy Chiongbian, to become the lone district of Sarangani's House representative in May 2010.
Pacquiao, while mostly focused on being a boxer and a congressman, is listed as the head coach of the basketball team Kia Sorento. At 36, he also played 7 minutes of one of the team's games and is thus a professional basketball player. He was drafted onto the team that he coaches as 11th overall on the first round of the 2014 PBA draft by the Kia Sorento, making him as the oldest rookie drafted, as well as the shortest player and the first dual-sport athlete in the Philippine Basketball Association. Pacquiao also owns a team in the PBA Developmental League (PBA D-League), the MP Hotel Warriors.

For now, he started his preparation for his incoming fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr that will happen in MGM Grand Arena and Casino in Las Vegas, USA on May 02, 2015. This fight is the most awaited event in his boxing career. Some experts says that this is the most crucial fight of all. This fight waited for a long time because of Mayweather’s bad act against Pacquiao. I’m sure this fight will determine who the true champion in the world of boxing is.

OPM vs. K-POP: Patronize our very own music

We all know that Music has great impact to our lives nowadays. Even in era of our Grandparents. Music can bring us relief in every pain we have. Music is our expression how we feel and how we think. Music is an art form whose medium is sound. Its common elements are pitch (which governs melody and harmony), rhythm (and its associated concepts tempo, meter, and articulation), dynamics, and the sonic qualities of timbre and texture. The word derives from Greek μουσική (mousike; "art of the Muses"). In its most general form the activities describing music as an art form include the production of works of music, the criticism of music, the study of the history of music, and the aesthetic dissemination of music. As a Pilipino, we have our own music and they called it as OPM or Original Pilipino Music. This organization has a duty to protect and conserve our very own kind of music. But what happened now in our music industry now days?
The ORGANISASYON NG PILIPINONG MANGAAWIT (OPM) is the leading and most respected organization of Filipino professional singers in the country. It is a non-stock, non-profit corporation duly registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission. It was established in October 27, 1986. The Philippine music industry is abounding with world-class professional singers whose worth is upheld and rights are protected under Philippine and international laws.
OPM has a lot of competitor in music industry in this generation which is a foreign music. But the biggest problem of our music industry is from our neighbor country which is South Korean. They music that everyone called “KPOP” has a great impact in this era and this is the main problem and hindrance for our own music industry.
Unknown to some, this phenomenon is giving threats to the OPM industry since it affects many aspects of it. Because of the Korean Pop invasion in the Philippines which influences a lot of Filipino teenagers to patronize K-pop music, it poses threats to the Original Pilipino Music industry in terms of the album sales, organization of local concerts and the worst is, it might be more popular than OPM in the near future.
“Nobody”, “Fire”, “Sorry Sorry” and “Gangnam Style”, these are just some of the K -pop songs that became a huge hit in the country. K-pop fever is everywhere and it has been a breakthrough throughout the Philippines. So, when and how did K-pop invasion in the country start? According to Lou Kana, popular Korean dramas which were aired in the Philippines like Full House and Endless Love contributed to the birth of K-pop music in the country since the lead stars of those dramas are K-pop artists (12). The beginning of K-pop fever started around 2008 when majority of Korean dramas’ theme songs became popular. Super Junior, Wonder Girls, PSY, Rain, Big Bang, SHINee, Girls’ Generation, 2NE1, 2PM, BEAST, TVXQ, U-Kiss and EXO, these are mainly the popular K-pop groups which are idolized by Filipino K-pop fanatics . With the tremendous popularity that K-pop groups are gaining, there are some people who wonder why many Filipino teenagers are getting addicted to them. Mac Macapendeg asserted that Filipinos love K-pop artists and the music itself because it sounds unique, it introduces an incomparable level of entertainment, fashion, style and Korean customs and traditions are not that different from the Filipino one.

This is sad thing especially to those who were involved in the OPM industry. Our country is very open in embracing foreign music but K-pop music seems like a new thing compared to Hollywood or English music. Because of patronizing K-pop, Filipino teenagers nowadays seem not to patronize their country’s music. Instead of buying OPM albums, they tend to buy K -pop albums available in music stores nationwide. This will be discussed further as we analyze the competition between K-pop and OPM.
As the Korean invasion continues, K-pop music brings benefits and bad effects to those teenagers who continuously patronize it. It could affect one’s social life and the way he/she handles things such as money. If a teenager gets totally addicted to that certain kind of genre, his/her social life might change. It is either he/she might lose or gain friends. Another thing, because of one’s eagerness to buy K -pop albums or to attend K-pop concerts, he/she becomes thrifty and saves a lot of money just to feed his/her addiction. One of the issues about K-pop is the issue about lyrics that picture or refer to sex, social criticism and swearing. Some examples of it are TVXQ’s Mirotic and a few songs by Rain.Karl Enriquez stated in his article that some people say that these inappropriate songs should be  banned from the young people because they impart bad impressions to the listeners. But as we all know, other foreign music or even the local one are going through the same issue. Social interaction is one of the basic needs, and this could be achieved through gaining insights on the situation of fellow fans.
K-pop also affected the original way of life of Filipino teenagers. Their daily schedule consisted of listening to Korean music on their way to and from school through their music  players and watching Korean videos on their laptops and computers. Fangirling 24/7 has been their lifestyle. I personally think that this is not bad at all since all of us have our own likes or obsessions. This habit will just be disturbing if it becomes so serious and it affects other aspects of one’s life.
From the songs, to beautiful boy bands and cute girl groups, Filipinos tend to embrace the K-pop fever by adapting and loving their music out of the context whether they understood the language or not. It seems that everything that has to do with Korea is addictive and most of it linked to the K-pop invasion. From young to not-so-young, a lot of Filipinos become hooked with K-pop’s catchy music, edgy fashion and style and good-looking idols. According to Alex Vergara, K-pop invasion may affect some aspects of a country specifically entertainment, fashion, food, language, culture of that particular country (A20). The phenomenon may also be the bridge that will connect Filipinos and Koreans more since it would be the way to get business opportunities like restaurants, shops and even Korean language learning centers in the country.
Since the K-pop invasion started, it has been said to be a threat to OPM. In line with this, some questions the ability of OPM to not be affected by this at all. As what Ree Ocampo claimed, “Western music has been a lot more popular than OPM for a long time, so it can be said that OPM is at threat regardless of K- pop or not.” .Foreign genres result in giving impacts to the Filipinos and so to the OPM industry.
The birth of P-pop groups is one of the effects of K-pop invasion to OPM industry. Pinoy  pop exists since 1970s but in 2010, a sub-music genre inspired by the Korean wave was launched making a way for P-pop groups like XLR8, 1:43, Freshmyx, Sakto, Down to Mars, A-FIVE, Pop Girls, Pointen and Eurasia to join the OPM industry. In this way, people can say that K-pop has affected the originality of Filipinos in making new music. In response to this, the boy group Down to Mars defensed P-pop by stating,“As artists, we wanted to recreate that experience not by copying but getting inspirations because in the bottom line, music is still the language of our soul that can cross the boundaries of cultures and places, so to speak.” (Paliza).
Aside from this, Filipino songs and artists are losing originality in making their music. The distinctive sound of OPM is slowly losing and being influenced by other genres. If people would notice, some of the OPM songs that they hear from radio stations are just remakes or revivals. Another thing is, new Filipino artists are not properly trained unlike those Korean artists who undergo years of training. Filipinos should make OPM “original” again since it is a part of our identity. It is a good thing that we get inspirations or ideas from other foreign music but there comes a time that we need to use our originality to create good music

As a whole, the K-pop invasion in the Philippines really affects the OPM industry in four major aspects: 1) album sales 2) organization of concerts 4) originality of music and lastly, 4)  popularity, as proven by the evidences cited earlier. But that does not mean that the K-pop invasion is the biggest threat to OPM today since there are a lot of factors affecting it.

UNIVERSITY DAY: A Reflection

Each University Day serves as a celebratory reminder of university’s beginnings, and some ceremonies have been particulary memorable.

Last Friday, February 20, our school, the Quezon City Polytechnic has celebrated its University Day. That day, All of QCPians including Professors, faculty members and personnels celebrating the founding of our beloved University. From the hard times of school days, we feel relieved and feel free from negative effects of being student. That yearly event helps us remember that after a hard days of studying and teaching, there is the time for celebration to unite us in a good way.

Actually, I won’t able to go in our Main Campus in Novaliches because of doing paperworks and I have a work. But because im not that guy who ignored everything that happened in my enviorenment, I asked some of my friends and my classmates to have reference to make about the University day. A lot of my friends told me that nothing good or important happened. Actually a lot of them said that event is too boring and they called it a University day? Where is the word “UNIVERSITY DAY” when they perform the event. There are few booths that are placed across the main campus in which it includes ukay-ukay booth, zumba booth, singing and dancing booth. Generally speaking, it has a putted effort to successfully make the U-day. It has a little quite things and stuffs that somehow the students would enjoy.

As you can see, how will students enjoyed that day? They lauched a booth that solds a second hand goods? They have a zumba booth for what? Did this things helps us or even entertained us? And they called it UNIVERSITY DAY? When I was in 1st year high school, every clubs held a different kinds of entertainment and school-related games like Pinoy Henyo, maze, and etc. In my own opinion, they don’t really know what students wanted to or even what they expected for. As a freshmen, I expected a lot from this event but then It all gone. I really wondering why they need to have a Ukay ukay? Fund-raising activity? For what? Sorry for my opinion but this is not the first time that corruption happened in our nation. Actually, I have a lot of questions I want to asked them. But then, im just a student but I really wanted to have my voice in our school.

However, from my own point of view, it is insufficient. It lacks the connection to the real essence of the U-day which is the celebration of having the University and considering the students enjoyment. The students were quite bored because of the inappropriate booths that has established there. It does not have a specific objective that should be accomplish. They weren’t able to organize the facilitation and management well.
I would suggest that next time or during other general activities which would involved all the students, they should have assigned a particular committee for each aspect of what program should be done. And include appropriate activities. But I still appreciate the fact that they have putted effort to make the U-day a successful one. This is just my opinion and I have my rights to publish my thoughts and opinions.

From Paris with Love

Whenever people ask me about the place I've always wanted to go, I will simply say "Paris". Then they'll ask me "Why Paris?" Why not other beautiful cities?" Here's why.
Paris is located at France, it is the place where fashion, culture, arts and music are beautifully fabricated together. It is also called the "City of Lights" because it has an amazing scenery during the night and also known as the "City of Romance"
Paris,
France is one of the amazing places an individual could ever been. As the statistics says, over 7 million of people visit each year. There are so many phenomenal things to see and you'll never get bored. The Eiffel tower named after is main contractor and architect Gustavo Eiffel is the most prominent landmark in Paris.
For just a small fee you can take the elevator to top and from that topview it's very spectacular. Based on the history it took 2 years to build the Eiffel tower and actually it is not just build for tourist attraction or world exhibition but also used as a radio transmission tower.
Another famous landmark in Paris is the Versailles Palace which is the most extravagant building in the world. It has over 700 rooms, 2000 windows, and 1250 fireplaces. And the whole property is 19262 acres.
In the field of Arts and Culture, the famous Louvre museum could also be found in the Paris where the artifacts from Egypt, Greece and Rome could be seen. The Mona Lisa by Leonardo Da Vinci is also displayed.

Paris has a typical Western European oceanic climate (Köppen climate classification: Cfb ) which is affected by the North Atlantic Current. The overall climate throughout the year is mild and moderately wet.[69] Summer days are usually warm and pleasant with average temperatures hovering between 15 and 25 °C (59 and 77 °F), and a fair amount of sunshine. Each year, however, there are a few days where the temperature rises above 32 °C (90 °F). Some years have even witnessed long periods of harsh summer weather, such as the heat wave of 2003 when temperatures exceeded 30 °C (86 °F) for weeks, surged up to 40 °C (104 °F) on some days and seldom cooled down at night. More recently, the average temperature for July 2011 was 17.6 °C (63.7 °F), with an average minimum temperature of 12.9 °C (55.2 °F) and an average maximum temperature of 23.7 °C (74.7 °F).

Spring and autumn have, on average, mild days and fresh nights but are changing and unstable. Surprisingly warm or cool weather occurs frequently in both seasons. In winter, sunshine is scarce; days are cold but generally above freezing with temperatures around 7 °C (45 °F). Light night frosts are however quite common, but the temperature will dip below −5 °C (23 °F) for only a few days a year. Snowfall is uncommon, but the city sometimes sees light snow or flurries with or without accumulation.
Rain falls throughout the year, and although Paris is not a very rainy city, it is known for intense sudden showers. Average annual precipitation is 652 mm (25.7 in) with light rainfall fairly distributed throughout the year. The highest recorded temperature is 40.4 °C (104.7 °F) on 28 July 1948, and the lowest is a −23.9 °C (−11.0 °F) on 10 December 1879.

Paris is the culinary capital of the world and is known worldwide for its gourmet cuisine. They also celebrate different and various Holidays in which the most important is the Bastille day, it celebrates the French Revolution and shows military bands, parades, bonfires and firework displays.

K-I-S-S-I-N-G Great relationship last with this.

This is the month that we celebrate in entire world the month for love. FEBRUARY is the month for all we love, the one who love us, and what love is. This month we celebrate not only because we have a partner but this month tells us how great can love made. As a Roman Catholic, I really believe that God love us so much not because he died up that Cross and crucified. He do that because he knew that loving someone or somebody is more than anything else so to show his true love to us he sacrificed his own life just to pay debt to our sins. Anyway, Lets discussed what is this month is special? In February 14 we celebrate the feast of St. Valentine or we all known as a Valentine’s Day.  St. Valentine is one of the saints that devoted about Love. For Filipinos, this significant event is very special especially when you have your love ones. They exchanges gifts like chocolates, stuff toys and the men giving  to his girl a roses to show his full love and full respect to her. But this is some facts you need to know now a days.
Some experts studied about the kiss. They figured out that if you kissing someone you love or your partner is very good to your health. The product of their experiments concludes that if you kissing someone it lose 2 to 3 calories per minute. Imagine yourself if you kissing for an hour you like someone who walks half an hour. Not just that, there are a lots of good things you don’t know when you having kissing someone.
Did you know that if you kissing someone it also help you to have a good face? This is not a joke. You know why? It’s a workout for your face. If you fear your jowls are starting to sag, try tightening things up with some regular, vigorous kissing. It's the perfect non-surgical prescription to enhance your youthful appearance: safe, free and fun!
This is the latest news. The human body is home to 100 trillion microbes, known collectively as the microbiome. In fact, bacterial cells in the human body outnumber human cells by a ratio of 10 to 1. In recent years, scientists have found that these communities of organisms are crucial for human metabolism and immune system function. In November 2014, Dutch scientists published a study in the journal Microbiome that found that couples have similar microbial communities in their mouths, and a 10-second kiss can transfer up to millions of bacteria. Because of that, we have a resistant to millions of bacteria that we might encounter. See?
Lastly, Kissing naturally relaxes you. Scientific reports say kissing increases the levels of oxytocin, the body’s natural calming chemical and also increased endorphins, the body’s feel-good chemicals. Swapping spit is also noted to increase dopamine, which aids in feelings of romantic attachment.
This fact really affects our daily life because now that we know all of these stuffs we don’t hesitating to kiss our partners. For me, Kiss is not about how it affects our health. For me, kissing someone we love is very important to show what we feel about them and to make argues less and have a better communication. Happy kissing. 

Worst nightmare: MACARTHUR

We have many young inspired writers here in Philippines. They used the easiest way to write a story with the help for we all known WATTPAD.  The site which provide the user to create her/him story to publish online and shared to read of all the readers. Before that there is a lot of famous novelist and writers that most of us might know like Dr. Jose Rizal. But here is a writer which we know that he is a writer but we don’t know if he/she really exists.  This author is a low-profile writer.  Most of readers know him as Robert Ong or simply Bob Ong. From his name, we figure it out that he is a man but some rumors tell that he just  uses this identity to hide the true identity he/she have. Because of his style of writing and the concept it has. He wrote the famous novels like ABNKKBSNPLAko?! It publishes in the year 2001. This story that he wrote is from his own story. He wrote his experience, story of his life and his own Love story.   This is the great start for his career as a writer. After that great start, in the year 2002,  Bakit Baligtad Magbasa ng Libro ang mga Pilipino? was publish.  I don’t know exactly what is inside of this book but if we examine from its title, this book represents the reader’s way of reading that they started at the end.  In the year 2003, 2 books was been publish Ang Paboritong Libro ni Hudas and Alamat ng GubatAng Paboritong Libro ni Hudas tells different drab facts in the society we have while Alamat ng Gubat is an animal inspired book that represent also our society. Year 2005, one year ago from his 2 novels that marks the writes mind. He wrote a book that titled as Stainless LongganisaSemi-autobiographical book written by Bob Ong it mainly deals with literature. 2 years after, the book titled Macarthur publishes on the year 2007. This is the book I review and read a couple of times recently.

Macarthur or the Red Book is a 2007 novel by Filipino author Bob Ong. It is the sixth published work from Ong. As with all Bob Ong's published novels, it is notable for its use of contemporary street Filipino words. It is also notable for its departure from the usual Bob Ong formula of using humor to comment on the various ironies of Filipino culture. Instead, it offers a gritty, realistic look at life in a Philippine slum community.
The title is derived from a slang term for difficult-to-flush faeces — a reference to Douglas MacArthur's famous promise, "I shall return".[citation needed] The cover's background, mostly obscured by the bold typeset of the title and by the red colour, depicts a toilet bowl. ©Wikipedia.
This book has 4 main characters. Noel, Cyrus, Voltron and Jim. This 4 young men that has a common doing which is using banned drugs. In short, they have a problem regarding to a drug addiction. This book has a very reviling story which is defines the problem of our society regards to drugs and its causes and effects specially to those who uses this particular drugs. The story of 4 main characters was ironic facts we have here in society.
·         Noel. Their family was once rich until a sudden slow down of business. He first appeared in the place on where Cyrus, Voltron and Jim were talking. It was indicated that Noel was just a typical college student who eventually stopped studying because he lacks the money to afford his college test paper. After a quarrel with her sister, Lyla, he was asked by his own father to leave his house, calling him a "good for nothing". He develops a good friendship with Cyrus' grandfather, Mang Justo, until he is shot (mistook for a monster) by Cyrus. In the end, he returns to his family and, although with doubt, is welcomed by his father, along with the rest of the family.
·         Cyrus. The youngest member of their group. Known for his habit of swallowing objects after stealing them. Cyrus lives with his grandfather, Mang Justo, to whom he donated his own kidney. Months after the operation, he accidentally killed his grandfather
·         Voltron. Also known as Denver and Amadeus. His siblings are Stephen, Brooke, Joshua, Kurt, and Gwyneth. Voltron is skinny and has a big chest, small head, big hands and feet and looks like a robot that rains saliva when talking. He gets beheaded by a gangster.
·         Jim. 23 years old, oldest in the group, has a big body which can lift a sack of rice and a small brain which is enough to carry a foil that will burn crystal meth. He has a wife and son, and is persuaded to leave Manila for the province because of his family's needs.
They have different problems but with the use of drugs, they forgot all of the things that they worried about. But this is not the answers they looking after all of this time. This attitude that they have be the worst thing may happened after all of this. Even though, they look for a good business to start a new life with. They failed because this business is also a illegal. They sell a pirated cd’s and dvd’s. Because of failure, it triggers them to do the same thing they do. But they badly need to change these hobbies to support their families. They decided to make their own. Noel run-away from his family because of the treatment they do to Noel. He decided to go in Cyrus house to stay for a while. Cyrus was finding solution to earn money to support the medical assistance of his grandfather. Meanwhile, Voltron is also seeking for easy money so he decided to join a gang but this gang ordered him to rob someone’s house. I don’t know the specific cause of death of him but it tells that this is cause of the gang he joined. Jim has a family and his wife suggested to him to go to her province to start a new life.

This ending is very controversial because of the terms and imaginative way of describing the situation. Mang Justo (Cyrus grandfather) was threated. Noel and Mang Justo have their conversation. Mang Justo knew that they use illegal drugs but he just ignored it. That night, they talked about Noel’s dream. Mang Justo’s cough is too badly to hear. So Noel decided to buy his medicine in the near Pharmacy. When Noel gone, Mang Justo hear a sound that’s from Cyrus that seems have a bad nightmare. This nightmare was a product of using drugs. In Cyrus nightmare, the wild beast attacked him again and seems his grandfather is the first target that the beast aiming to eat. When the beast handed his grandfather to eat, Cyrus grab the revolver that he hide in his pillow and pulls the trigger. This nightmare was a product of drugs. He doesn’t know that the one he shoot is not the beast but his grandfather. After that tragedy, Jim and his family went to their province to start a new life and Noel went back to his family. That’s the reason why Bob Ong entitled it as a MACARTHUR because of the famous term that Gen.McArthur said “I shall return.”

Hoping for the Changes

In every election, there are the promises and reforms you might hear from the Politicians. But where are those Promises and Reforms that they said from the beginning we choose them? This Blog is just my thoughts and my vision in every election that passed by. You may see it in the near future. Well let’s start.
“The elections in the Philippines have several types. The president, vice-president, and the senators are elected for a six-year term, while the members of the House of Representatives, governors, vice-governors, members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (provincial board members), mayors, vice-mayors, members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod/members of the Sangguniang Bayan (city/municipal councilors), barangay officials, and the members of the Sangguniang Kabataan (youth councilors) are elected to serve for a three-year term.
The Congress or Kongreso has two chambers. The House of Representatives or Kapulungan ng mga Kinatawanhas 292 seats as of 2013, of which 80% are contested in single seat electoral districts and 20% are allotted to party-lists according to a modified Hare quota with remainders disregarded and a three-seat cap, which are only accessible to marginalized and under-represented groups and parties, local parties, and sectoral wings of major parties that represent the marginalized. The Constitution of the Philippines allows the House of Representatives to have more than 250 members by statute without a need for a constitutional amendment. The Senate or Senado has 24 members which are elected on a nationwide at-large basis; they do not represent any geographical district. Half of the Senate is renewed every three years.
The Philippines has a multi-party system, with numerous parties in which no one party often has a chance of gaining power alone, and parties must work with each other to form a coalition government. The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) is responsible for running the elections.
Under the Constitution, elections for the members of Congress and local positions (except barangay officials) occur every second Monday of May every third year after May 1992, and presidential and vice presidential elections occur every second Monday of May every sixth year after May 1992. All elected officials, except those at the barangay level, start (and end) their terms of office on June 30 of the election year.” ©Wikipedia

As you can see, these are the facts you must know in our election here in the Philippines. But why do we see the old faces that belonged in the same family rom the past election? They said that this is POLITICAL DYNASTY. It is the term that just passed by the position in other member of the family.

“The Philippine presidential and vice presidential election of 2016 is the next presidential election in the Philippines, scheduled on Monday, May 9, 2016. Incumbent President Benigno Aquino III is barred from seeking re-election, pursuant to the 1987 Philippine Constitution. Therefore, this election will determine the 16th President of the Philippines. The position of president and vice president are elected separately, and the winning candidates may come from different political parties.

This will be the 16th presidential election in the Philippines since 1935, and the sixth sextennial presidential election since 1986. This will be a part of the 2016 general election where elections to the Senate, House of Representatives and local government, including the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao shall be held.” ©Wikipedia

As you can see, even though that the election is too far as we know. They just proclaimed there candidacy and even their Candidacy propagandas are on this day without the election period. Some of them are from the lower part of the Government, some of them are Businessmen and some of them are from the entertainment industry. The Fact is most of them did not have an enough experience nor did not have a background in Politics. The old politicians use their fame just to win. And some of them use Dirty tricks. We might encounter these tricks when we are voters.

Meanwhile, if they finally decided to run for there wanted position in the Government. They release some Election paraphernalia. You see them face when you go outside your doors. In the television, radio, and newspapers. You don’t want to see them but because they wanted to be known they uses everything that they thought. Even though that sometimes they infringed the law that limited their campaigns.   And when they won the election, where is the promises they gave us? Did they do their Jobs as we do on ours?

From my own perception, our government is not an entertainment industry to elect famous or wonderful to look people, not a business entity to elect rich businessmen and not a family tree in which you will elect the same person from the same family, to fulfill the assigned positions. We are living with a government of democracy in which I would qoute from Abraham Lincoln that it is of the people, by the people and for the people. We are not in a Monarchy country that should be lead by a family. We should be aware the we, people, citizens of the Philippines have the power and are in the position to change this matter. We are the hope of our future. Lets do our part in our society.

Memoir: Memories last forever.

Do you believe that everything has a reason? That everything that happens on your life is in God’s plan. What if something happen in your life that you didn’t expect all along? This is the part of my life that changes everything for the start. This story that I’ve share to you is one of my secrets that I been keep a years ago to hide what I really feel and to hide who really I am.
This is started when I was a child. If I’m not mistaken, it is a summer before I go to Grade 5 in elementary level.  I really miss my Mom. She living with her second husband and their 3 Childs and then I was living in my Grandmother. When I was in my grandmother, I do a lot of things to do. I work as a part-time and also I studied some general educations in Grade 4. When summer comes, I really want to go in my Mother’s house because I really want her to see. I keep all of my money I gain in my part-time work. Then one bad thing happened to her I really shocked. She had a disease. I don’t remember exactly what that disease is but she had it because of too much work. To help her I gave her my full savings. Then I go to their house to check if she alright. When I arrived, she is alright at that time. She thanked me for what I do to help her. Then she wants me to live to them and transferred. I shocked so I think quietly. Finally, I have my decision. I answered her. YES.
Hours, days, weeks, even a months left me behind. She doesn’t have a work anymore and my stepfather was stacked because he doesn’t have work. When I asked my mother why did he don’t have work? She replied while staring mad at me: “What do what me to do? He don’t have work because he taking care of your siblings and you also.” I don’t reply anymore. That day after, the owner of the house knocked at the door madly. That morning everything seems noisy. We have a debt for 5 months from the rent and we have to pay for our bills in water and electricity. My mother called her friends to borrowed to pay them but no one’s answered. They do everything to solve the problem.  One night, my mother said: “Get ready. We need to see your Ninong (Sponsor). He might help us. Then I gear up. When we are in the way to see him, she always talked to me what to do. I don’t want it to share with you because it is private stuffs. Then we finally arrived. At first, i am so nervous but when we saw him. My heart slowly calm down. They talked each other. I don’t know what they talk about. Then he talked to me: “How are you? You’re too handsome like me.” I just smiled because of being shy. “That nails you have, the same as I have.” He point out his fingers then I agreed that is look the same. “You really have my characteristics, there is no doubt. “You are my son”.  But I smiled because I thought this is just a joke.
That day after, I woke up early because I have a nightmare. That morning, everything seems quite. I want to turn-on the television but it might wake them up. So I just have to look of my mother’s cellphone to play games. But something doesn’t right. Someone text her and that is him. I open that message. I read, I shocked then I read it again. I analyze everything. Then when I finally understand everything, I instantly cried with noticing them. Without a sound, I cried and cried a lot. I found that he is my biological father. They hide everything to me and to the family. They keep me believe that our father is in other country. That person I been hated from the beginning is not my father. My older sister and my younger brother’s father. That worthless man who abandons us when I was a child is not my father. I really shocked and really sad. Until now, I really want ask God why did he done this. I feel being used then left behind. Until now, I just keep this secret that hurt me the most and change everything I have. Everything I saw is like damn fake. Sometimes I don’t even believe someone.
I have a lot of stories of my life. That stories change everything I have until now. But this story I shared to you is the most a keep. I write this story of mine because until now I can’t take the truth that I’m just dump left behind. That I just a fruit of their mistakes.
